Health Vision Agency-Uganda (HEVIA), established in November 2013, is a non-profit organization that connects well wishers to the Uganda’s rural and frequently forgotten communities. After working for 3 years and seeing how the communities were exceedingly forgotten in terms of Healthcare, Education, Income and Conservation, a group of 20 youth led by Mr. Deus Mwijuke pulled their meager savings together and formed a Community Based Organisation called Health Vision Agency-Uganda aimed at raising funds from the well wishers to use it in addressing challenges faced in Healthcare, Education, Poverty and Conservation in these forgotten communities in Uganda starting with the rural Kiruhura and Kamwenge Districts.
“The Agency aims at creating long-term, self-sustaining projects that enrich the livelihoods of local communities, promote the conservation of the environment, Health and Educated Communities.
HEVIA operations have and continue to expand and focus are Advancement in Education through Scholarships, Health through Mass mobilization on HIV/AIDS Prevention (Prevention is better than Cure approach) and Counseling to the Victims of HIV/AIDS (not forgotten Approach), Entrepreneurship and Conservation are backed by a foundation of Community Engagement. The Agency receives funding through conducting fund raising campaigns and Proposal writing to corporate organizations as well as private donations (from well wishers who donate directly to the Agency).
The Team
Meet the HEVIA Uganda Team

Board Chair – Mr. Nathan Kaddungu
Mr. Nathan Kaddungu is an education professional who has spent most of his career in teaching and managing educational institutions. His leadership skills and positive attitude have enabled him to steer good governance; ensuring that there is effective communication between the board and management.
He is committed to HEVIA-Uganda’s mission of creating sustainable communities through improved education, health services and entrepreneurship skills among the youth.

Currently serving in the capacity of managing director at HEVIA-Uganda, with a lead from the front strategy and being a fully certified and registered medical practitioner under the Allied Health Professional Council of Uganda, Mr. Deus Mwijuke get involved in doing day to day work at the CBO as well as the health centre. He has had a 7 years career with government hospitals specializing in a number of medical fields.
In academics he holds a diploma in Clinical Medicine and has continued to enhance his training by receiving various qualifications
Prior to joining HEVIA-Uganda, he worked at Engali Community Health Center as in Charge Laboratory and administration Manager for 3 Years as which forced him to start HEVIA after seeing how many people who could not afford to pay for basic services were extremely neglected.

Ruth is currently working in Charge of reproductive health. She also doubles Maternity in Charge. Prior to joining HEVIA she served as In charge at Kyanda Clinic Canoni, In Charge maternity at Engali Community Health Center and In charge at Quality Care Health Center in Ibanda. Her time to time experience in the maternity has enabled her to understand how a pregnant woman should be handled. She has also heard several training in reproductive health.
Ms. Mpirwe is a fully registered and enrolled member under Uganda Nurses and mid wives.
In academics he holds a certificate in nursing from and has continued to enhance his training by receiving various qualifications from the ministry of health.

Innocent is currently serving as the Special Projects Officer. He also doubles as Grants Manager; Innocent carries immeasurable experience over 7 years as a seasoned Business Developer and Procurement and Supplies Expert and Project Management
Innocent holds a Masters Degree in Project Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, Postgraduate Certificate in Procurement and Logistics management from Makerere University Business Centre- , a Bachelor of Procurement and Supplies Management from Makerere University.
Prior joining HEVIA-Uganda, Innocent worked as Procurement and Development officer at Profiles International for 3 years, He later joined Winning Generation foundation as Monitoring and Evaluation specialist. He has serve a number of projects.

Hands-on, approachable and flexible with a strong focus on equality in service delivery and commitment to ethical business practices. Bernard serves as a communications Officer HEVIA-Uganda. Prior to joining HEVIA, he served as Special Projects Editor at Watchdog Communications, and Corporate Affairs Manager at Beacon Solutions.
Bernard’s Passion is to air out the voice of the voiceless and to mobilize the masses to stand against social un equalities.
He holds a master degree in Refugee and Migration Studies, a postgraduate Diploma in Refugee and Migration Studies, a bachelor’s degree in Philosophical Studies, and a diploma in Social Sciences and Philosophical Studies.

Owen has bachelor’s degree in Education, and post graduate diploma in Development Studies.
He’s currently working with Engari secondary school as a director of studies and has been procedingly a good adviser of HEVIA UGANDA.

Innocent is a passionate researcher and humanitarian character who believes in the
power of knowledge to transform the world. He is blessed with a wife and children who are a
beacon of strength and success in his career. He holds a BA Philosophy, MA Religious
Studies and certificates in Behavorial Research, Good Clinical Practice as well as CCA.
